Is that true that when one starts training for a sport or martial arts, his initial growth were rapid, and then gradually slows down to a virtual plateau after a time?
And furthermore is it true that different persons have a different heights of such plateaus during their development?
Ability limits for atheletes plus some other questions?
The initial gains are because your brain is telling or training all of the muscle cells in a group to work together. It is called recruitment.
Once all of the muscle cells are coordinated then the additional gain is from increasing the size of the muscle cells.
Each persons plateau is determined by the size and initial strength of their muscles.
Once you have reached that plateau you must train to shock or cause your body to grow, along with a diet that supports cell growth.
