I'm tired of racism?

I'm southeast asian and I still feel looked down upon at work or when I'm out somewhere. Some act surprized when they realized I'm as american as they are. They think they can intimidate minorities like me because they seem to think of themselves as superior human beings. Should I get physical? I'm trained in martial arts. Will that teach them a lesson? How do I make them realize they are no better then everyone else?

I'm tired of racism?
Hold your head high and ignore people who treat your poorly.

Turn the other cheek!
Reply:ignore them...they're not worth getting thrown in jail for
Reply:Yeah..... who isn't???

Just look confident.

Confidence is the KEY.
Reply:sure...drop a little king-fu on them.....that always helps...not...you cant fight a bigot with physical attacks..it only reinforces the stereotype....
Reply:Fighting or killing them won't help a bit, and it will only enforce their views that you are lesser or an "animal". Challenge them intellectualy and show them that you are more than their equal.

Demand your respect through honesty.
Reply:Your gonna personally kick the crap out of millions of people?

Just figure they are a$$holes and move on. If they get physical defend yourself. (isn't that part of your training anyway?)
Reply:Unfortunately you can't reason with stupidity. There are always going to be people who think they are better than you no matter who you are, where you come from or what you look like. The fact that they think they are better than you only highlights the fact that they are not, but that they have small narrow minds and a limited understanding of things.Ultimately people like that usually end up looking stupid because believe it or not other people can see through them and see them for the shallow individuals that they really are. Rise above it, not everyone is like that.
Reply:I'm confused. Are you American or Southeast Asian? Is this a question of nationality or ethnicity? Maybe you're being too oversensitive and it's all in your head. I mean, you didn't give any examples of how people are being racist towards you.
Reply:You attract what you project and if you expect to be rejected, your body language, your tone of voice and your facial expressions will TEACH the people around you to reject you, regardless of whether you are Asian or not.

Paranoia is never a noble virtue, my dear, and aggression is never an attractive behaviour.

Please grow up.
Reply:Hey..

Sorry to say this, I heard white American are very racist and a lot of countries dont like them.

Try to do best at work or do something bis that would make your boss and co-wokers surprised.

Don't get physical yet, because you are the one that will be guilty , unless they do it first then you can do it as self protection.

Well anyway, Asians are growing and improved too, getting better than whites.
Reply:There are always going to be ignorant people in the world whether you whoop up on them or not. If you tear into them, you'll fail whether you win the fight or not. You'll lose your job and probably get in legal trouble. By all means, defend yourself if necessary, but don't let them set you up for failure. That's what they want! Outperform them; be a better person than they are; and succeed in life.
Reply:I'm Asian, too. I don't want you to take it wrong, but, do you feel they are looking down on you at your work every second you are there or do you feel it when you make mistakes or you are in something similar in that sense? I don't think there are not so many people nowadays who gets offended because you are from other countries or the way you look. Sometimes, some cases, you feel you are mistreated when you did something to others without the intentions. Might be how you dressed, might be how you talked(not the accesnts or anything; talk nicely or not nicely) etc...
Reply:Perhaps this true story will amuse you.I live in Australia,I'm caucasian and witnessed a scene at a party.

Another white guy was there, speaking in slow, broken english to an asian looking guy.The (asian looking) guy responded,in his own voice(thick Aussie accent):"Yeah, whaddaya want?"

Everybody cracked-up laughing.

The white guy looked silly and old fashioned!LOL.
Reply:i am sorry for you

you will just have to learn to ignore them

racism does get tiring, i understand but you will only hurt yourself

if you get physical YOU will have the record, NOT THEM

just maintain your dignity, be intelligent and learn to let go of anger

do this only because your anger will hurt you more than them
