It is very interesting to notice that Kajukenbo is supposed to be a mixture of Karate Judo, jui jutsu, and Kenpo.
Have you seen it in action?, is it good?.
You know Kenpo and Judo ara among my favorites, since they both promote sparring, and I see that as very helpful to lose fear of fighting and practice with realism.
American Kenpo is supposed to be targeting self defense although I don't know if they practice sparring or not, Nippon Kenpo is fun to practice and even though it markets more as a sport, the sparring is awesome for self defense.
Whats the case with Kajukenbo?. Hapkido also markets as self defense multiple martial arts, but I found it to be very unrealistic in its training, it has no sparring, and mixing martial arts proved to be to much to learn and memorize, so you end up with not much.
So how do you see Kajukenbo?
Your opinion on Kajukenbo?
I'm currently not taking it but at my dojo they teach Kajukenbo and its pretty cool to watch (and by the way its karate, judo, kendo, and chinese boxing) and yes there is sparring but its mostly the higher belts with headgear on while the lower belts (white-orange) work on takedowns
Reply:The only martial arts worth taking in the USA are BJJ, boxing, muay thai, and wrestling.

Don't bother with kajukenbo. It's little more than expressive dance. It's not a martial art because you won't learn how to fight.
